Cameras have always been something I have carried with me in life. There has always been a desire to capture the moment, to tell a story. Little did I realize that early in life, running around with my pocket 110 film camera, that this passion would turn into a lifestyle. Being able to share the adventures I have, the things I see, to see the delight in people's eyes to discover something new... That is what I find the most rewarding when taking pictures.
Although I have been been working with cameras most my life, it would have to be when I started scuba diving that I really found my calling. Underwater wildlife photography is one of the most candid environments I can think of. No staging, no direction, no fabrication. Almost everything is right place, right time. Is it that realm that I find both my greatest challenges as well as my greatest rewards. As in life, not everything works the way you hope for. You can plan things out in advance and show up to find that everything is different. Sometimes just being in the moment and being able to capture that moment is the most beautiful thing.

Photography started off as a hobby nearly 20 years ago. In 2015, while living in San Francisco, I made the choice to turn it into something more professional. In 2018 I moved to the Big Island of Hawaii to pursue it as a career. While my primary focus is underwater, I am well versed in several different formats such as entertainment, theater, real estate, candid, and wildlife. On land, you'll find me hiking, biking, traveling, volunteering my medical skills, watching a sunset, and being my otherwise ridiculous self.
